My love affair with the Rottweiler began back in1980 and we purchased our first Rottweiler in 1988 after much research deciding to buy a quality pet from Abakhan kennels here in Queensland. When we went to pick up "Scarface" the breeder offered us another pup that he said was of Show/Breeding quality and he would like us to have this boy if we promised to take him thru to his Australian CHampionship after some deliberation and trepidation as to entering the world of showing we agreed and Abakhan Gembar Charro became a much loved member of our household. He was everything we could have ever wanted EXCEPT he hated the show ring but due to our promise we stuck it out and he achieved his Australian Championship which he was very worthy of and was a dog of very good confirmation and character he just hated showing off. He made our lives very much richer for the 12 and a half years he graced us with his presence and he will never be forgotten. He is the reason that after all these years i will always wish to contribute in any way i can to this wonderful breed, the Rottweiler. Over the years i have been lucky enough to import 2 lovely dogs from overseas of German Bloodlines and to have made many wonderful loyal friends both here and overseas i have attended 4 KS Shows in Germany and also Shows in the USA, Belgium the UK and Croatia.
i am an advocate of the COMPLETE ROTTWEILER not just a conformation dog but also one that possesses a strong character and be of working metality which is the correct Breed trait of the Rottweiler. i admire immensely those who work with their dogs be it Obedience, Working Trials, Herding, Carting etc. i believe in this day and age that we must be aware of moves against us owning dogs such as the Rottweiler and do everything we can to put a stop to this movement.
